Koufactory accepts only a curated number of commission projects per quarter to protect studio bandwidth. Serious inquiries should include a clear brief, intended use, and timeline so we can respond with scope and pricing in one pass.
Submissions are reviewed manually by an editor — not a bot. Expect a thoughtful reply from a named human within two business days, even if the answer is no.
Frequently Asked Questions
How fast do you respond to inquiries?
We answer most commission and press requests within 48 business hours. If your project is deadline-driven, mark the subject line URGENT and we will prioritize it ahead of routine correspondence.
Do you take unpaid contributor submissions?
Occasionally. We commission original essays from researchers we already follow or have worked with. Cold pitches are reviewed monthly, so include a one-paragraph thesis and a writing sample link.
Can I republish or syndicate a Koufactory piece?
Yes, with attribution and a dofollow link back to the original archive entry. For translated editions, print rights, or excerpt packages, write to press and we will issue a license.
What is your cancellation policy on commissions?
Work that has not yet entered research is refundable minus a 15% setup fee. Once the dossier is in production, we prorate based on completed milestones and deliver everything produced so far.
